I've been designing and making uprated cable kits to complete the latest offering of 220+CCA batteries and 150Amp solenoids for a little while now.
So the standard cables supplied by aprilia were just about good enough with a." New bike a new battery and a new solenoid many many years ago.
Roll on many years and the cables have been overheated, corroded, and damaged through general wear and tear typical of cranking a big VTwin engine. Plus new battery tech has moved on and the whole circuit is below par when it comes to starting your bike reliably.
My kits have been designed around that magic figure of 220cold cranking amps, and are full copper construction, with 40% larger copper parts including 16mm2 cable that will carry 220Amps during starting - something the 12mm2 OE cables physically couldn't do even when they were new.
So this is a typical kit with copper busbar at the battery terminals and auxiliary connector for your satnav or Optimate.
